Members of Le French Mafia kidnap three ailing participants of the Tour de France and take them back to Belleville for the amusement of a gambling syndicate, but the gang’s diminutive head Mafioso didn’t bank on the interference of the dogged mother of one of the cyclists, who follows them across the ocean in a fish-drawn pedalo, desperate to save her beloved son, in Chomet’s hugely inventive and divertingly entertaining if decidedly lightweight animated film.
