Based on Kurt Eichenwald’s fact-based book of the same title, Soderbergh’s decidedly irreverent and generally hilarious film takes a farcical look at Mark Whitacre’s dealings with the FBI between 1992 and 1995 when, as an up-and-coming executive at a major food manufacturing company, he turned whistle-blower against his price-fixing employers, before getting his own comeuppance as things began to get progressively more out of control.
