With the most beautiful of scores, against a stark white background, under the gaze of an unseen narrator, a man and a woman go about the business of being human beings, in Leth’s gently funny but decidedly melancholy anthropological study, which provided the inspiration for von Trier’s The Five Obstructions (2003).
