The majority of the participants in this fourth instalment of Michael Apted’s ever entertaining Up documentaries – a series of films examining the lives and attitudes of a group of disparate British citizens every seven years – are rapidly and predictably acquiring marriages, kids, and careers; but the interviews with the one notable exception are scintillating yet decidedly sobering viewing and, on a personal level, worryingly like looking into a mirror.
