Langella’s excellent, pathos-laden performance forms the heart of Howard’s otherwise solidly constructed if mildly (relatively, considering the subject matter) disappointing surface deep adaptation of Peter Morgan’s play, which details the build-up to the celebrated series of interviews between British talk show host turned journalist David Frost and the disgraced former US president Richard Nixon – gripping stuff, never the less.
