Rab C. Nesbitt returns to our screens, following the 2008 Christmas special, for his first series since 1999, but he is a much changed man – he’s found God and no longer drinks – which may be good for him and his well being, but it’s not so good for us, as the series has become as toothless as its middle-aged protagonist, and worse than that, it is seldom funny and often painfully unfunny.
