Mundruczó’s intensely sensual and often quite beautiful yet decidedly abstruse film follows the progress of Mihail, a bearded young man with an adolescent like face-covering hairstyle, as he returns to his family home after a long time away, and begins to build a house for him and his sister (literally on the Danube), much to the displeasure of the locals.
