Contreras’s strikingly photographed, affectingly acted, and beautifully written film – by turns gently romantic, achingly sad, quietly, desperately funny, strangely unsettling, and wonderfully uncompromising – delicately paints a portrait of two lonely thirty-somethings, whose friends have all married and acquired lives of their own, as they tentatively attempt to spark up a romantic connection.
