This evocatively photographed, affectingly acted, and beautifully crafted BBC film revealingly paints a portrait of risqué comedian Frankie Howerd – concentrating on his relationship with his loving, long-suffering manager, Dennis Heymer – highlighting his many fears and insecurities and, most significantly, his inability to come to terms with his own sexuality.
