After running away from her abusive cop husband, Kate, a gentle hearted Scotswoman, tentatively begins a relationship with a quietly spoken tailor, who, unbeknownst to her, is also a hitman with suicidal tendencies – a relationship that arouses the suspicion of a lonely, chain-smoking police officer, who has a crush on her, in Keaton’s downbeat, affectingly acted, and visually assured directorial debut.
